Scaling in Tiling Puzzles: An Interactive Mathematical Experiment
About the Puzzle
This interactive tiling puzzle explores how scaling changes the nature of geometric and combinatorial problems.
Unlike classic tiling puzzles, where pieces can only be moved and rotated, here each piece can also be used at two different sizes (1× or 2×). This dramatically expands the space of possible configurations.
Your goal is to fill the grid completely using the given pieces, without gaps or overlaps. As you experiment, you’ll see how a small rule change leads to large mathematical effects.
How to play: Click a piece to select it. Drag to move.
Keys: R rotate, S scale 1×/2×, Del send back.
Goal: Fill the grid completely without gaps or overlaps (demo logic).
