Maximal Properties of the Pythagorean Relation

Rectangles cut off from a right triangle leave three triangles with inradii $r_1, r_2, r_3$, in the increasing order. 

Show that when the area of the rectangle is a maximum possible then $$r_1^2 + r_2^2 = r_3^2.$$
