Τρεις φοιτητές Μαθηματικών έκαναν βόλτα, όταν είδαν ένα αυτοκίνητο να παραβιάζει τους κανόνες κυκλοφορίας. Ένας από αυτούς πρόλαβε να δει τον αριθμό της πινακίδας — ήταν τετραψήφιος — αλλά δεν θυμόταν όλα τα ψηφία.

Θυμόταν όμως κάτι πολύ χαρακτηριστικό… και σύντομα, οι τρεις φοιτητές συμπλήρωσαν ο ένας τη μνήμη του άλλου.

Ένας φοιτητής παρατήρησε ότι:

• Τα δύο πρώτα ψηφία του αριθμού ήταν ίδια.
• Τα δύο τελευταία ψηφία του αριθμού ήταν επίσης ίδια.
• Ο αριθμός της πινακίδας ήταν τέλειο τετράγωνο.
